The nicest, least appreciated hotel

We're in Borneo now.  We arrived in Kota Kunabalu with light rain and after sundown, so there wasn't much to see.  At first glance, does seem reasonably developed and not quite as rustic as we expected.

We had a 30 minute ride to our resort hotel, and that became less appreciated once we discovered we'd have to leave for the airport at 5am.  It's a really nice hotel and we have an oceanfront room -- the ocean heard but barely seen at this hour.  But... we'll be back here on Christmas day, so we'll be able to give the hotel its proper due when we return.

Tomorrow our Intrepid trip starts and we fly off to Turtle Island, where we'll get to see turtles laying eggs and hatchlings being released to sea.  I've seen both before -- the Galapagos and Cancun, respectively -- but it's always nice to see nature up close.
